Tree

Carl gnashed his teeth as he glared at Doris.  He realized his firsts were clenched and there was a small tickle in the back of his throat from the previous 15 minutes of yelling.

For her part, Doris stood with her arms crossed, eyebrow cocked and her, “I know I’m right smirk” on her face and stared right back at him.

The street, for a moment, was quiet.

Carl inhaled, then, thinking a change of tone was needed, said in a voice just above a whisper, “It’s an Elm.”

“IT’S AN OAK!” Doris raged throwing her hands in the air.

9:00 a.m. Neighbors on the 1100 block of Lincoln Avenue disputed over a tree.

Where?

“I’m telling you David, it’s not here.” Elaine said, hands on her hips.

“It has to be.” Came David’s reply, his voice muffled as his face peering under the couch as they searched.

“Well, I’ve looked everywhere.  The garage, outside, in here but I can’t find it.”  Alain replied.

“If it was here we would see it.” David said, resigned.  “It must have been stolen.”

“Stolen?” Alain said incredulously.  “We’ve been here the whole time.”

“Well, I can’t explain it, but someone taking it the only logical reason why it’s not here now.” David said standing, “I’m calling the police.”

Lexington Way, 7:13 p.m. Oct. 21 A vehicle, originally reported stolen, was determined to have been misplaced.

How many times has this happened to you?

You head out on an overnight camping trip with your buddies.  You’ve got your tent, your sleeping bag, your fishing pole, a change of clothes and cooler full of food and beer.

You set up camp, but as the sun sets you realize, you forget to bring a flashlight!

There’s no need to fear, as long as that’s a six-pack of Schlemer’s in your cooler!  Each can of Schlemer’s comes with a flashlight built into the bottom of the can!

Don’t stay in the dark!  Drink Schlemers!

Please remember, drink responsibly!

California Drive, 3:09 a.m. Sunday A person reported a stranger with a flashlight that turned out to be a beer car.
